SRINAGAR, Jammu & Kashmir—In a significant development, pro-SAD (Badal) Sikh Students Federation (Mehta Faction) has stated that the struggle would continue until Sikh nation attained independence, reported leading Punjabi daily “Ajit”.
The statement has been made by the splinter group of the SSF irrespective of pro-India policies of the SAD (B). The SSF (M) organized a religious function at Gurdwara Chhevi Patshahi in memory of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindrwanwale, Bhai Amrik Singh, Baba Thara Singh, General Subeg Singh and other Singhs who attained martyrdom while fighting against Indian troops who attacked Sri Darbar Sahib in first week of June in 1984.
Various Sikh leaders including Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Mal Singh paid tribute to the martyrs during the function. Giani Mal Singh preached Gurmat values referring Gurbani and Sikh history in context of June 1984 Sikh holocaust. He called Sikh youth to be conscious about anti-Sikh forces that conspired against them.
Addressing the function, SSF (M) president Parmjit Singh Khalsa said that India was a multi-national country where every nationality should have right to freedom and self-respect. He opined that struggle would continue until the nation got its right.
