DHAKA, Bangladesh—All India Sikh Student Federation president Karnail Singh Peermohammed today welcomed the Bangladeshi government move to recognise the Sikh Anand Marriage Act 1909, which has only 5 sections.
The AISSF president thanked the Bangladesh High Commissioner Sayed Muazzam Ali by writing a letter. He also appealed to the union government that they should also approve the Sikh Anand Marriage Act .
He said that there were very few Sikhs in Bangladesh and their govt still recognised it . The Pakistan govt had already recognised it long ago but the place where most of the Sikhs residing is still not approving the Act.
