Information shared with Sikh24 by Bhai Tara’s Advocate Simranjit Singh reveals that his parents had passed away long ago and his brothers reside abroad. Under such circumstances, Bhai Tara’s paternal aunt tends to meet him in Jail but the jail authorities have denied her permission, alleging that only only blood relation candidates could meet Bhai Tara.

Bhai Tara was detained in an individual cell for 3 months after his arrest in January 2015. He was not allowed to visit Gurdwara Sahib and read Newspaper in Jail.

Bhai Tara had to struggle to get permission to visit Gurdwara Sahib and to read Newspaper by holding hunger strike in past days. Now he’s being provided newspapers daily but his demand for Panthik Newspaper ‘Pehredar’ is still pending.

Meanwhile, Advocate Simranjit Singh said that he met Inspector General of Jail to sort out the issue, but seeing no chance he had decided to file complaint against Jail authorities at national Human Rights Commission in Delhi.
