DSGMC Leaders Meet Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar in Hospital

GK meets BhullarAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) president Manjit Singh GK and general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Tuesday met Sikh political prisoner Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar.  Prof. Bhullar is receiving medical treatment at the Swami Vivekanand Mental Hospital.  DSGMC leaders inquired about his health condition.

Prof. Bhullar has been languishing in Tihar jail for more than two decades in a case of bomb blast and he was shifted to Amritsar couple of days ago on demand of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa.

After meeting him, GK and Sirsa said to journalists that memory of Prof. Bhullar seemed very week. They alleged that Sikhs in India were treated with dual standards and previous governments’ policies have been proved as anti-Sikh.

Talking on parole of Prof. Bhullar, they said that everybody should be given their legal rights and Sikh political prisoners who have completed their imprison terms should be released.

They also demanded termination of black list of Sikhs and said that those Sikhs who are serving political asylum in foreign countries should be granted visa to visit their motherland.

GK alleged, “On one hand, there are people like Prof. Bhullar who have been languishing in the jails even after completing their terms and on the other, you have the likes of Jadgish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar who instead of being punished are made ministers.”

GK claimed he too was implicated in a false case under the NSA while alleging that most of the cases against Sikhs at that time were concocted. Talking about delay in justice to the 1984 genocide victims, he accused the bureaucracy of having a negative mindset.
