SAN FRANCISCO, USA—United Sikh Alliance, a group based out of the United States, has alleged that the Punjab state administration is working hard towards finding an honourable solution to end Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s hunger strike.

“Credible sources reported that in order to find a solution to the Sikh Political Prisoner issue termed as Dharam Yudh Morcha II by Bapu Surat Singh and the Sangarsh Committee, the state and central agencies are in a process to transfer out of state prisoners to Punjab,” alleged the group in a Facebook post.

It has been shared that transfers might start to happen as early as June 25th.  It was alleged that they delay was caused due to the celebrations at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Bapu Surat Singh has remained steadfast in his demand for equal treatment of detainees under law and release of political prisoners who have not been released despite having completed their terms.

Alliance added that senior ranking Punjab administration officials are already enroute to Punjab to a second transfer that may be completed by end of this week.  The group extended its gratitude to Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa for his “unshaken faith”.
