ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab—Senior BJP leader and Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had to face strong opposition of the Sikh activists as soon as he started his speech in conference of Akali Dal (Badal) on the eve of 350th foundation day celebrations at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Before the speech of Rajnath Singh, Parkash Badal had spoken about unity in India.
Reports from reliable sources reveal that the activists of the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) started echoing pro-Khalistan slogans as the Union Home minister Rajnath Singh got into position to commence his speech to address the attendees.
The protesters alleged that the fascist BJP leadership was responsible for armed attack at Sri Harmandir Sahib as it pressurized the then Prime Minister Indra Gandhi for committing third holocaust of June 1984. Rajnath Singh had to stop his speech for a while. Meanwhile the security personnel took away the protesting activists and lodged them in police station of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
Addressing the attendees, Rajnath Singh appealed the youth of Punjab to take pledge of finishing drug menace in Punjab.
