AMRITSAR SAHIB—Pro-Hinutva elements are criticizing transfer of Prof. Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar from Tihar Jail to Amritsar. This is despite the fact that Prof. Davinder Pal Singh Bhullar is in a critical condition.
BJP elements are terming Prof. Bhullar as “dreadful terrorist” and his transfer as “big threat” to peace of Punjab. Lacking humanitarian feeling, they are saying that the transfer could disturb the communal harmony and peaceful environment of the state.
This past Saturday, Punjab BJP core group held a meeting in this regard and took serious note of the shifting of Prof. Bhullar to Amritsar jail. They expressed fury with its close ally saying that SAD did so “without consultation with them”.
Kamal Sharma, president of BJP state unit, said, “We have done an assessment of the impact of Prof. Bhullar’s shifting on law and order. We will report to high command regarding this.”
Except some Punjabi newspapers, main stream Indian media is presenting the transfer negatively and sensationally. It exposes their communal and biased approach.
Making reaction over the media approach on Prof. Bhullar, Sikh intellectual state that Indian media had always been going on communal line. They said it had never care for aspirations and rights of Sikhs.
