Akal Takht Directs ‘Pathis’ and ‘Granthis’ To Avoid Mobile Phones During Duty; Ban May Be Imposed on ‘Prabh Milne Ka Chao’ Organization

meeting of Panj Singh SahibanAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sri Akal Takht Sahibappointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Wednesday directed ‘Pathis’ and ‘Granthis’ not to use mobile phones during their duties as it leads to disrespect of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.  The decision was taken after complaints against some ‘Pathis’ who were caught playing games on mobile phones while ‘reciting’ the Gurbani from Guru Granth Sahib.

After the meeting, Giani Gurbachan Singh said, “In view of this, the order has been issued to all the pathis.  If still this kind of incident happens in any Gurdwara, concerned management will be responsible.”

Besides this, many issues were discussed in the meeting held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Takht Sri Patna Sahib appointed Jathedar Iqbal Singh, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib Jathedar Giani Mal Singh, Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Jathedar Giani Gurmukh Singh and Sri Darbar Sahib granthi Giani Raghubir Singh also attended the meeting.

Acting on some complaints, the Jathdars asked Kirtani Jathas to perform Kirtan from the memory and not by reading from smart phones. They ordered to stop printing holy Saroop of Guru Granth Sahib with colourful words.

Discussing the issue of Moga based controversial cult name ‘Prabh Milne Ka Chao’, the highest presidium endorsed ban on it and said that the final decision would be taken in next meeting.

  1. Why should anyone expect any transparency from these self-appointed people occupying the nation’s great sovereign chairs? What was really discussed we will probably never know but will all the shadow government security on duty inside Darbar Sahib next week be asked to switch off their mobile phones too?
