Police Cat Pinky’s Issue: Victim Father Writes to Parkash Badal With Outrageous Words

2015-22-05_pinkyCHANDIGARH, Punjab—In protest against his bid of saving infamous cop Gurmeet Pinky from imprisonment, Amrik Singh, father of Avtar Singh Gola, has written a letter with outrageous words to Punjab chief minister Parkash ‘Singh’ Badal.

Gola was murdered by Pinky in 2001 for which later was sentenced for life imprisonment. Pinky was released pre-maturely just in seven years going against norms of pre-mature release.

Addressing his letter to Badal, the victim father writes, “You claim yourself as Sikh Akali but in view of what is happening with me in your rule, I cannot call you even human being. My human rights have been violated. I have been struggling for getting killers of my son punished for past 15 years and you have been saving them. My son was murdered by Gurmeet Pinky on January 7, 2001. At that time, there was Akali government in Punjab and you were the chief minister.”

Amrik Singh alleged that in order to save killers of his son, the Police had filed wrong FIR. Some judges had refused to hear the case in Punjab and finally a court of Yamuna Nagar (Haryana) had sentenced Pinky for life term and fined worth Rs 10,000 on Oct 17, 2006. The court had also ordered him to compensate the victim family with one lakh rupees.

“Since Akalis again came to power, Pinky has enjoyed freedom in various forms and in the year of 2014, he was granted pre-mature release. Besides, this month, Fatehgarh Sahib Police reinstated him”, he said in the letter.

He warned that he would knock the door of Punjab and Haryana High Court to get justice.
