CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Terming the Sikh political prisoners who have completed their terms as “innocent”, former MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira has asked for their immediate and unconditional release. In a video message, Khaira appealed to the Punjab and Modi Government to release all political prisoners who have completed their respective terms.
He came out in full support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa and asked Government to take concrete steps to ensure he is able to conclude his hunger strike. “I support Jathedar Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa from the depths of my heart. I express full support to his struggle,” he added.
“Prisoners who have completed their terms must be treated as innocent and need to be released immediately,” said Khaira. “His demands are in favour of human rights as he is seeking release of Punjab’s Sikh political prisoners who have completed their terms,” he said.
“This is not his personal struggle, it is aimed towards people of all religions, including Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Sikhs.”
