San Antonio Sikhs hold Annual Nagar Kirtan for Peace

SAN ANTONIO, TX, USA—Sikh Sangat from San Antonio, Texas held its annual Nagar Kirtan for peace in the downtown core.  Sangat and members of other communities gathered at the Maverick Park and offered prayers for peace, remembering in particular the devastating earthquake that hit Nepal last week.

Sikhs told the public that their faith revolves around helping those in need and in equality of all regardless of religion, race, gender etc.

The Sikh Sangat also partnered with the San Antonio Amputee Foundation with proceeds going to them.

There are over 300 Sikh families in San Antonio, TX.  Sikhs have been in Texas since the early 1900s.
