AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Taking quick action on written complaint lodged by Damdami Taksal (Mehta faction) chief Giani Harnam Singh Dhuma and other Sikh leaders, Sri Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh on Thursday ordered Canada based Darshan Singh Malewal to stop publication of ‘Sainchis’ (two parts) of Guru Granth Sahib.

The written complaint was submitted by Damdami Taksal’s Baba Partap Singh Langheana, Baba Surjit Singh Sodhi US, Baba Balwinder Singh Harchowal, Baba Surjit Singh Vadhaike, Baba Vir Singh Madhole, Baba Balbir Singh Lame Jatpura, Baba Labh Singh Ram Thaman, Baba Ajit Singh Tarna Dal etc to the Jathedar

The complaint pointed out discrepancies like using coloured instead of black and white letters and rest between the letters, while printing copies of the scripture. It is important to mention that Bhai Darshan Singh Malewal invented the idea to used coloured words instead of using spaces as a means to promote “larrivaar” (joined style of writing Gurbani) format.

After going through the memorandum, the Jathedar has directed Darshan Singh to stop the printing and publication of the ‘Sainchis with immediate effect. He asked him to wait till further orders passed by Panj Singh Sahiban in this regard as his process was running counter to Sikh tenets.
