Team of Upcoming Movie ‘AAZAADI’ Meet With Sikh Youth Leaders in Amritsar

AMRITSAR SAHIB—Team members of upcoming movie ‘AAZAADI’ today visited Sri Amritsar to obtain support from the Sikh Youth Front in promotion of the movie. The movie is production of Tarsem Singh Bhatti (Mustafabad) and is likely to hit screens worldwide on June 12.

Director of the movie Sri Devi Sharma informed that this movie is based on the brethren feeling across civilian population of different religions residing in Punjab. “This movie portrays the trend of fake encounters performed by Punjab Police during the last two decades of 20th century” he added.

Editor of monthly Panthik Magazine ‘Vangaar’ S. Baljit Singh Khalsa said that the state embedded media has always implemented biased approach towards Sikh Struggle. “Atrocities committed by Punjab Police on civilian population of Punjab couldn’t be limned in true manner due to lack of platform on the Panthik side,” he added. He appealed the whole Sikh nation to support such movies that presents the fair image of Sikh struggle.

General Secretary of Sikh Youth Front Bhai Papalpreet Singh said that depiction of positive aspects of Sikh Struggle on screen are much needed today. “Negativity preached by Indian state against Sikh freedom fighters needs to be washed from minds of civilian population,” he added.
