Canadian Students Organize 2nd Annual “Turban Pride Day” In Winnipeg

WINNIPEG, Canada—The Indian Cultural Club of Red River College organised its 2nd Annual “Turban Pride Day”.  Students of the club organized this event to focus on history, culture, and reasons why the turban is an important element of the Sikh identity.
 
Members of the club gathered outside the library of Red River College assisted many non-Sikhs in tying turbans.  They also explained the historical importance, and provided them refreshments and delicacies for free.
 
This day was fun-filled and educational. Over 600 students took part in turban tying.
 
Turbans were tied on all students, irrespective of their gender and age.
