After Severe Criticism, Movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ Now Faces Ban in Different Parts of the World

2015-03-24_nanak_shah_fakirCHANDIGARH, Punjab—The movie ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ which was released by Harinder Sikka has failed to hit the large screen in number of countries across the World.  The film is facing protests and bans in Europe and in Australia.  The movie was released despite mass opposition by number of Sikh organizations.  It was also earlier banned for two months in Punjab and Chandigarh.

It is noteworthy that this movie portrays Guru Nanak Sahib and his two disciples Bhai Mardana Ji and Bhai Bala Ji, also Bebe Nanki Ji in human form.  Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal has also written to the Lieutenant Governor seeking ban on this movie.

The movie succeeded in being released in England, but there it had to face huge opposition of many Sikh devotees. The movie faced complete boycott in other parts of Europe as well.
