CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Raj Kakra’s Punjabi movie ‘Patta Patta Singhan Da Vairi’ is receiving great response in all cinema halls across the world. After its tremendous opening, all shows of the film have been house full and great crowd is being witnessed in the halls where the film is being screened.

The sizeable response being received by the film shows that present generation wants to know about truth and history. It is noteworthy that in USA, UK and other countries of Europe, tickets had already been book for a week. Its songs like ‘Pindo Bahar’ and Punjabio Jagde k Sutte’ etc. gain popularity.

It is worth mentioning that the film is based on human rights violations committed by the Indian state and its security forces against Sikhs in Punjab during 1990s. It exposes real face of Indian state and tells saga of atrocities and brutalities faced by Sikhs during that period when thousands of Sikh youth and civilians were murdered by security forces extra-judicially.

Raj Kakra had earlier made the film ‘Kaum De Heere’ which was based on life events of Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh, Bhai Beant Singh and Bhai Kehar Singh who took revenge of army attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, holiest Sikh shrine, by assassinating the then Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
