April 13: Call To Support Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s Sangharsh

2015-02-17_bapu_surat_singh-355x266CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Panthik Sikh organizations have requested Sikhs from far and near to arrive in Ludhiana to express support for Ravinder Jeet Singh Gogi, his US citizen son who has been wrongfully detained by the police.  April 13 will be the fourth court hearing of Gogi.  It is important to mention that so far the court has refused to hear his case.

Sikh Youth should arrive outside the courthouse to express solidarity with the case.  It is important that everyone remains peaceful.

On the same day, the newly formed United Akali Dal (UAD) has also declared to organize a March from Moga to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo on April 13 to energize the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa for permanent release of Sikh political prisoners languishing in various jails of India illegally.

Led by convener Bhai Mohkam Singh, UAD leaders organized a press conference here in this regard. Addressing the conference, Bhai Mohkam Singh, Pattern Dr. Bhagwan Singh and general secretary Gurdeep Singh Bathinda said that Punjab government is violating human rights openly by keeping Bapu Surat Singh who is on hunger strike since Jan 16, and his son Ravinderjit Singh Gogi in police custody illegitimately.

Gurdeep Singh Bathinda who is also coordinator of Sangarsh Committee, said that all human rights groups and well wishers of Panth are supporting struggle of Bapu Surat Singh. “To energies his struggle, a march is being organized on large scale on April 13 from village Thraj (Distt Moga) to Takht Sri Damdama Sahib”, he added.
