Makhan Singh Gill Acquitted In Charges Fabricated By The Police

PATIALA, Punjab—Yesterday, on 24th March 2015, Makhan Singh Gill was acquitted in the Neelon Nahar case dated 5 November 2009.

Makhan Singh was brought to court under high security from Nabha Jail.

Judge Sarbjit Singh Dhaliwal, cleared Makhan Singh of all charges in the case which had been filed by Macchiwara police.

According to the story fabricated by the police, in 2009 a stolen motorcycle was found abandoned near the Neelon Nahar bridge along with a large quantity of ammunition, some detonators and explosives. Later in October 2010, Makhan Singh was arrested from the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh and again the police claimed he had possession of weapons.
