Chhotepur Recommends AAP High Command to Get Sukhpal Khaira into Party’s fold

Sukhpal Singh Khaira and Sucha Singh Chhotepur

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur is still keen to bring Sukhpal Singh Khaira into the fold of the party. He has now recommended party’s high command to consider Khaira.  News of Khaira wanting to join the Aam Aadmi Party has irked some other leaders of Punjab, including Bhagwant Mann and Prof. Sadhu Singh.  Chhotepur has however insisted that Khaira could be very useful for the party in future political circumstances.

It is noteworthy that Khaira is facing embarrassment these days as the Akali MLA from Bholath, Bibi Jagir “Kaur” has leveled serious allegations of having associations with drug traders against him.

Not too long ago, Khaira had himself given indication to join AAP but Bibi Jagir’s allegations have left negative impact on his reputation, though the allegations have not been proven yet. This has however produced obstacles in his way of joining the AAP.

Some sources have also disclosed that Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa has written a letter to Congress high command that Khaira is facing serious allegations which could malign party’s image.

It is also pertinent to mention that Khaira, son of former Akali stalwart Sukhjinder Singh, is considered to be one of most influential leaders and has a mature approach on various issues of Punjab.
