Babbar Khalsa Activist Released on Bail; Alleges RSS Trying To Convert Sikhs in Prisons

NEW DELHI, India—Babbar Khalsa International activist, Bhai Kulwinder Singh Khanpur, has been released on bail from the Tihar Jail. After being released, Bhai Khanpur paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Bangla Sahib along with his family members and aides.

Talking to Sikh24 exclusively, Bhai Khanpur’s aid Bhai Jaswinder Singh said that former’s bail plea was accepted by the concerned judge on Thursday but jail authorities kept him behind bars illegally. His family members took rigid notice and took measures to ensure his release. Bending before their pressure, authorities hadBhai Kulwinderjit 2 to release the Sikh freedom fighter.

Bhai Khanpur said that being a Sikh, we are harassed a lot inside jails. He said RSS and cultists are active even in jail to spread their ideology. As a result, the prisoners who belong to minority communities, are opting Hindu religion. He appealed the Gurdwara panels and Sikh bodies to take notice of this and organize religious functions there as per Sikh traditions.

He also appealed Sikhs to get mobilized in support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who is sitting on hunger strike since January 16 for permanent release of Sikh political prisoners. He said all the Panthik organizations should struggle for national cause pushing behind mutual misunderstanding as unity could bear fruits.
