BREAKING: Police Commissioner Refuses to Grant Bail to Bhai Mohkam Singh

Bhai Mohkam SinghAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Police commissioner today refused to grant bail to United Akali Dal president Bhai Mohkam Singh who was arrested some days ago for supporting hunger strike of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. His next production will be held on March 7.

Today, the former Damdami Taksal leader was presented before Police commissioner at Sadar police station. Party general secretary Bhai Satnam Singh Manavan, Bhai Wassan Singh Jafarwal, Sikh Youth Federation (Bhindranwala) president Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala, Bhai Sukhdeep Singh and Hari Singh, etc. were also present here.

Talking to media persons, Bhai Mohkam Singh said people of Punjab need to get rid of Akali Dal Badal, Bhartya Janata Party and Congress. He said the trio has limited to just enjoy power ignoring ideological demands of the state.

He said people across the world amaze at Punjab government for torturing a person of 90 for fighting peaceful struggle for release of Sikh political prisoners.

Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala said that on one side Indian constitution grants equal right to its citizens, on the other side minority communities are harassed illegitimately. He said detention of Sikh leaders including Bhai Mohkam Singh presents cruel face of Indian state. He demanded Punjab Chief minister make effort for release of Sikh prisoners abandoning the policy of detaining them.

Police administration has sent Bhai Mohkam Singh to jail by March 7.  Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda was granted bail today.
