AMRITSAR SAHIB—SGPC President, Avtar Makkar has demanded a railway link between Sri Anandpur Sahib and Sri Amritsar.
Talking to a Sikh24 correspondent, Makkar said that he will write a letter to the Railway Minister Sri Suresh Prabhu as well as Parliament Members of Akali Dal to pressurize the Centre Government for approving the railway link.
Makkar said that 350th establishment anniversary of Sri Anandpur Sahib will be celebrated with full fervor in May, 2015. He informed that the preparations for this are going on with full efforts and having a railway link announced by then would be appreciated by the Sikh Sangat.
