Anna Hajare: Modi Government is Worse than British

NEW DELHI—Social rights leader, Anna Hajare, today started a two days protest against the Land Acquiring Ordinance of Government saying it anti-farmer and anti-democratic.  Anna Hajare made it clear that he is not opposing any party or an individual, instead his opposition is for those implementations inside the ordinance which are purely against the farmers.

He questioned the government about a bill that was passed in 2013, however still not implemented.  Anna explained that the earlier bill was following the rule that if 70% farmers oppose the land acquiring, then the land cannot be acquired by the government. But the newly passed ordinance has eliminated this rule. He said that by changing this rule, Government has closed the way for farmers to get justice through court. According to this ordinance, a farmer can appeal for justice only if the Government will allow him to go to court. He said that Government made these changes only to convince corporate sectors.

Anna Hajare announced that he will keep struggling for the rights of common people till his death. He said that if the Government will take any action to remove this ordinance, then a huge protest will be organized from Ram Leela Maidaan. It is notable that protest on roads have also inclined against the  Modi Government of India. Condemning the ordinance of Modi Government, Hajare said that during the 68 years of freedom, it is first time that the farmers are mercilessly targeted by the Government. He said that the dictatorship of Modi Government will not be tolerated at any cost. He added that improving the Bill of 2013 was a need of time, but the current government is working in opposite direction.

Commenting on the Promises made by BJP Government during election, Hajare said that “good days are only for some industrialists. The farmers are helpless to struggle for their rights by protesting on roads.”  He added, “Though the Central Government ruling party has changed, but the intensity of atrocities is increasing day by day.”  Declaring his struggle a second fight for freedom, he said that if the Government will not give attention towards the demands of farmers, his struggle will be elevated. He announced to organize an awareness campaign for four months, and then a protest in Ram Leela Maidan.
