—After having ended his hunger strike on February 12, Vikram Singh Dhanaula has remained admitted at the local hospital.  His hunger strike of 65 days caused severe medical conditions, for which he is seeking medical treatment.

Vikram Singh had campaigned for the 1984 Sikh genocide victims and sought punishment for the culprits.  His hunger strike ended after the newly elected Delhi Government gave a written assurance to form SIT for 1984 Sikh Genocide cases.

Earlier today, members of the Sikh Relief team, including Parminder Singh and Bagicha Singh Wariach went to visit Vikram Singh and his family.  Sikh Relief stated that “Vikram Singh has two young children and being the only breadwinner, his absence has meant the family faced a struggle of their own.”

Sikh Relief has financed all the tests and check-ups that Vikram Singh has had in hospital.  They promised to provide the necessary medical aid as needed.  The UK based Sikh humanitarian organization has also arranged a welfare package to help his wife with the children’s education and running the household while Vikram Singh is seriously ill.
