Sikh Student Enlisted in List of 100 People to Visit Mars

SAN FRANCISCO, California, USA—Group of four visitors to visit Mars might include a Sikh Student named Taranjeet Singh Bhatia. He remained successful in reserving his place among list of 100 people in third round. Three Indians have succeeded in gaining position in this list constituting one male and two females.

Taranjit Singh Bhatia is a student of Doctorate of Computer Science in Central Florida University. Beside this, 29 years old Ritika lives in Dubai and 19 years old Shardha Prasad is from Kerala.

Taranjeet-Singh-Bhatia-300x300It is notable that 202, 586 candidates applied for this mission and the selection process filtered only 100 candidates after third round. Holland based Organization Mars One announced this.

Under this project, a colony will be habilitated on Mars for which a group of 4 people will be sent to Mars and then a total of 40 people will sent there, who will spent their whole life there.Four successful candidates will be given training for seven years and then they will be sent to Mars in 2024. 

It is noteworthy that list of 100 people constitutes 5 male and 50 females. The ethnicity proportion of this list constitutes 39 Americans, 31 Europeans, 16 Asians, 7 Africans and 7 Oceans. 29 years old Taranjit Singh Bhatia is also a part of this list.

Last year, 44 Indians were part of this mission. The 100 candidates were chosen from 660 candidates. All of them participated in an online interview which was conducted by Norburt Craft (Chief Medical Officer).

The candidates were questioned about the persuade behind their decision of taking risk to go to Mars, Team spirit and the life changing mission. In the next phase, the candidates will shortlisted on the basis of capability of tackling difficulties on Mars.
