Police Uproots Vikram Singh Dhanaula’s Morcha, Takes Him to Hospital Forcibly

NEW DELHI, India—Bhai Vikram Singh Dhanaula whose hunger strike had entered 54th day, was taken to Hospital by Delhi Police forcibly. His morcha was also uprooted by police.

Bhai Dhanaula who hurled shoe toward Punjab chief minister Parkash Badal in a state level official function, was on fast unto death at Jantar-Mantar with demand that culprits of 1984 Sikh genocide be punished for their sins.

As health condition of Bhai Dhanaula was very critical, doctors had suggested to admit him in hospital promptly. However, Bhai Dhanaula rejected doctor’s suggestion and announced to continue the fast until justice is not delivered. Afterward, during the evening, Delhi Police forcibly arrested him and brought him to unidentified hospital. His aides namely Bhai Mohinder Pal Singh Dangarh, Sanjay Singh, Gurinder Singh, Balvir Singh etc. were also arrested by the police.

It is worth mentioning that just days before starting the hunger strike, Dhanaula had taken Amrit from Sri Akal Takht Sahib and vowed to struggle for human rights of people.
