‘Messenger of God’ Likely to be Released on Feb 13; Punjab Ban Not Permanent

MSGCHANDIGARH, Punjab—As per various media sources, self styled godman and Sirsa based cultist Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s movie ‘Messenger of God’ (MSG) has been given final clearance from the Indian censor board.

The movie is most likely to be released on February 13.

It is pertinent to mention here that Gurmeet Ram Rahim has played the role of hero in the movie and the Modi government has granted clearance to the film by pressurizing members of the Indian censor board. Protesting against the clearance, head and 8 members of the board have resigned from the office.

On the other hand, a petition a seeking ban on the movie is pending in Punjab and Haryana High Court. This petition was filed by Mohali based Sikh group ‘Kalgidhar Sewak Jatha’ apprehending its threat to peace and law and order.

Punjab Government has stated that the ban on the movie in the state is not permanent and can be reviewed anytime.
