TALWANDI SABO, BATHINDA, Punjab—Singh Sahib Giani Gurmukh Singh on Tuesday took over as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo in the presence of Sri Akal Takht Sahib appointed Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, office bearers of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee including its president Avtar Singh Makkar and other SAD (B) leaders.
A brief function was organized in this regard at Takht Sahib. Giani Gurmukh Singh is head Granthi of Sri Akal Takht Sahib and he has been given the additional charge of the post of Jathedar of the fifth Takht of Sikhs.
Addressing those at the function, Avtar Singh Makkar said Giani Gurmukh Singh had been given the charge in view of his commitment and dedication shown during his tenure as Akal Takht’s head Granthi.
Giani Gurmukh Singh has replaced Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, who was removed from the post for not following a Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee order on the Nanakshahi Calendar issue.
Besides others, SAD Minister Sikander Singh Maluka, MP Balwinder Singh Bhunder, MLAs Darshan Singh Kotfatta and Jeetmohinder Singh Sidhu, Jassa Singh of Budha Dal Nihang Singh and Hari Singh of Sant Samaj were also present on the occasion.

Vahiguroo sad indeed that new Jathedar seemingly very Gurmukh, but his appointment implying he support non Gurmat calendar by accepting replacement of other Gurmukh Jathedar doing the Gurmat duty of Guru Granth Sahib Jio_/\_?
The appointed Jathedars of all these places are under the thum of RSS and the ONE controlling FAMILY of PUNJAB. They can not do or speak for the SIKH KAUM.
This is all a SHOW by the Chief Minister of PUNJAB to keep control.
The PUPPETS will move and so what is told to do.
Itis very sad to read and see all this.
Without a NEW PARTY in PUNJAB there is NO FUTURE for the Sikhs.
I don’t understand how the people of Punjab live under the “rule” of a regime that is so corrupt! Until they e removed from power, our religious leaders will be their puppets and will only take politically correct decisions instead of what is good for Sikhi.
