CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Just a few hours before his extradition to India, Sikh freedom fighter Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara, who ended the cruel regime of Beanta in Punjab in 1995, gave an impressive message to the Sikh nation while talking to Canada based Sikh Maninder Singh. Maninder Singh met him in high security jail in Thailand.

Maninder Singh found no paleness and fear on the face of Bhai Tara and the latter was seen in Chardi Kala.

Bhai Tara said to him that they had faced extreme torture from the Indian security forces.

Giving a message to the nation about how to continue the Sikh struggle, he said a lawyer should work on the legal front, a human rights activist should fight for human rights, a preacher should preach religious values and similarly an armed fighter should also be allowed to fulfill his duty on his own front. He said the ways could be different but all the ways should be ensured to meet at a single destination.

“Don’t pull each other’s legs. All Sikh sections should work on their own fronts. On every front, Sikh activists should have such kind of thinking”, he said.

Bhai Tara appealed the Panth to do Ardas for him, and also for all who are struggling or who attained martyrdom while struggling. “Due to the Ardas of Sangat, I would face all kind of brutality of police happily”, he added.

Maninder Singh said that he got a great opportunity to have a glimpse of unprecedented determination and fearlessness in the meeting of 25-30 minutes.
