PATIALA, Punjab—Despite heavy security arrangements made by the police, Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann along with his supporters on Thursday managed to meet Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara during his presentation in the court complex.
Earlier, police authorities did not permit him to enter the court, but Mann showed resistance. His supporters began to raise the slogan of ‘Khalistan-Zindabad’. Later, he was allowed by the court to meet Bhai Tara in the court room for a few minutes.
When Tara was taken back from the court, Mann’s supporters tried to violate the police security ring, but the police staff restricted them from doing so. His supporters again raised pro-Khalistan slogans.
Mann said Bhai Tara told him that there was a threat to his life as the police might take him away and target him in a fake encounter. He said the government must ensure his security not only while bringing him to the court but also in the jail.
