AISSF Conducts Camp to Get Signatures for Petition Against Article 25 (2)(b)

AISSF Campaign 1

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—All India Sikh Students Federation (Peermohammad) and Sikhs For Justice (SFJ) organized a two day in order to get more signatures for the petition to be sent to US president against article 25 (2)(b) of the Indian constitution which denies the separate identity of Sikhs, recognizing them as part of the Hindu religion. Sikhs have been demanding for more than six decades that the article be terminated.

Through this petition, US president will be requested to ask Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as to why the Indian constitution holds Sikhs as a part of Hinduism.

The camp was organized outside the Darbar Sahib Complex. The AISSF activists were equipped with their laptops so that anybody who was willing to sign the petition could sign it online. There was a big rush of aspirants signing the petition.

Talking to media persons, AISSF president Karnail Singh Peermohammad said so far more than 55 thousands persons have signed the petition and the target is to get signatures of at least 1 lakh persons. He said only those persons could sign the petition whose names contain ‘Singh’ or ‘Kaur.’

Besides AISSF workers, Karaj Singh, Charanjit Singh and ‘Dharmi Fauji Peerhat Pariwar’ president Baldev Singh Gurdaspur also rendered their services in camp.
