Ashutosh’s Son Challenges High Court Decision; States That Management Murdered His Father

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Ashutosh Jha’s son has challenged the Punjab & Haryana High Court’s decision of cremating his father’s dead body by December 15. This decision was given by the single bench of the High Court after a case was filed by Dilip Jha.  Dilip had earlier asked the High Court to seek possession of the dead body from the dera management.

Dilip Jha has now filed a fresh petition against this decision in Division Bench of Punjab & Haryana High Court. The Division Bench will start talking on this petition on Wednesday.

Dilip Jha challenged the decision of the court by terming it as biased. He said that “Ashutosh was murdered by the management of Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan for the hunger of money and post.” He has repeated his demand in the petition that postmortem should be done before cremating the dead body, and investigation of this case should given to an independent agency like the CBI.

On the other side, Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan has also challenged the Court’s decision, seeking an extension for cremating the dead body of Ashutosh Jha.

Ashutosh was a non-Sikh cult leader, however he played an eminent role in distorting Sikh teachings to attract followers from Sikh backgrounds.  A number of his deras continue to have parkash of Guru Granth Sahib, despite the cult having no relation to the Sikh religion.
