Bhai Ajnala: Panthik Organizations Should Ensure Release of Elderly Sikh Detainees of Ludhiana Bank Case

2014-11-25_Bapu-Assa-SinghAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Chief of Damdami Taksal (Ajnala) has appealed to the Panthik organizations of India and abroad to take suitable initiative to ensure the release of 10 old aged Sikh detainees imprisoned in the case of the Ludhiana bank robbery. While talking to Sikh24, Bhai Ajnala said that these detainees have already spent 26 years while facing torture of the police and attending court dates. He said that all of them have exceeded the 6th decade of their life. He expressed his worry about these detainees saying that Human Rights organization also didn’t give attention towards their old age.

“As we have already lost most of our youth while struggling for our rights, so it is our responsibility to take suitable initiative to ensure the release of these old aged Sikhs’  he added. He also appealed to Giani Gurbachan Singh (Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib) to come forward for the well being of these Sikhs. He represented a list of these old aged Sikhs with their current age that is given below:

Bhai Harbhajan Singh – 85 years 

Bhai Avtar Singh – 76 years

Bhai Sewa Singh 73 years

Bhai Mohan Singh – 72 years

Bhai Gurjant Singh – 72 years

Bhai Mann Singh – 70 years

Bhai Saroop Singh – 66 years

Bhai Balbir Singh – 62 years

Bhai Harjinder Singh – 55 years
