Hunger Strike of Bhai Khalsa Continues as Sikh Delegation Meet Haryana Chief Minister

CHANDIGARH, India—Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa’s movement for the release of Sikh political prisoners gains momentum. On Tuesday, a Sikh delegation comprised of Amritpal Singh, Gurcharan Singh Khalsa, Satnam Singh, Jujhar Singh, Jarnail Singh and Narinder Singh Chandigarh, met Haryana Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar at his residence at Chandigarh for taking up the issue of Sikh political prisoners who are languishing in jails of India.

The delegation handed over a memorandum to the CM seeking that the demands of Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa, whose hunger strike has entered into day 14, be addressed at the earliest. The delegation said that Khattar assured them that prompt action would be taken in this regard and the issue will be taken up with central government as well.

The hunger strike of Bhai Khalsa is going on at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib near Ambala city (Haryana) with the demand of the release of Sikh detainees.

Meanwhile, it has been learnt that district administration of Ambala has taken serious notice of the hunger strike of the Sikh crusader.

As per sources, Ambala Police summoned President of the Management Committee of Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib Niranjan Singh, Manager Sher Singh and other committee members to the police station and gave them notice. Bhai Khalsa alleged that the police threatened them. The police has taken written words from Niranjan Singh that if any untoward incident would happened due to the hunger strike, he would be responsible.
