PATIALA, Punjab—On the demand of the police, the court has extended police remand of Bhai Ramandeep Singh Goldy for 5 days more. The police on Friday presented Bhai Goldy before judicial magistrate Jagmeet Singh during which it sought permission to keep the alleged militant under its custody for more days.
It is notable Bhai Ramndeep Singh Goldy was arrested by Punjab police a few days ago, labelled as a “terrorist” and alleged member of Bhindranwala Tiger force of Khalistan (BTFK).
The lawyer of Goldy, Barjinder Singh Sodhi, opposed the extension in remand contending this was not the matter of e-mail.
Extending police remand, the court directed the police not to harass the Sikh detainee. The court also ordered the police to hold a meeting between Goldy and his mother and sister for half an hour daily. Next hearing of the case was set for Nov 19.
