2014-11-13- nandgarhMOGA, Punjab—A Nagar Kirtan dedicated to the martyrdom of Baba Deep Singh Ji concluded at Bagha Purana after commencing from Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Talwandi Sabo) in the patronage of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the leadership of the Punj Pyare. Renowned raagis, dhadis and speakers threw light on the life of Baba Deep Singh Ji.

Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh made the sangat aware of the life values of Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji. While addressing the sangat, he said that Sikhs resent the conspiracy of Congress for dividing Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee (SGPC). He said that SGPC came into existence after a long term violent struggle. “SGPC always remained available for preaching Sikhism and for helping the victims of natural disasters of different times” he added.

He condemned the exhibition of weapons in a march at Barnala by RSS. He said that RSS is trying to push into the fire of violence by destroying its peaceful environment. He said that radical Hindus should respect the Sikh community, because it was General Hari Singh Nalwa who rescued the mothers, sisters and daughters from Mughal attackers and returned them to their homes. Also, Guru Teg Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life for saving the Hindu religion. So, these communal Hindu organizations should thank the Sikh community, which is responsible for their present existence. He appealed to the whole Sikh community to unite on a common platform and work for the welfare of all.
