NEW DELHI, India—Violating the instructions of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has recognized the ‘Rashrya Sikh Sangat,’ a controversial wing of Hindu rightist force, the Rashtrya Sawayamsevak Sangh (RSS).

DSGMC office bearers on Monday attended a function organized by ‘Rashrya Sikh Sangat’ in its newly opened office, giving the anti-Sikh outface clear recognition.

It is notable that in 2000, RSS triggered an outburst among Sikhs, and Sikhs have since held agitations against it seeking ban on it. Finding that this organization was distorting Sikh history and misinterpreting Gurbani as per Hindutva, Sri Akal Takht Sahib issued an edict instructing the Sikh nation to shun any type of association with RSS and its various wings including ‘Rashrya Sikh Sangat.’ Rulda Singh, who was assassinated by Sikhs, was head of this organization. It also publishes a monthly magazine called ‘Sangat Sansar.’

As per information availed by various sources, DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, vice president Tanwant Singh and member Gurlad Singh attended the function. Many leaders of BJP from Delhi and Haryana were also present on the occasion.
