:datleine:After being released from police custody, Bibi Jagdish Kaur condemned the actions by the Punjab government in interfering in the call for “Punjab Bandh.” She stated that the organizers had given calls for a completely peaceful protest, however the government still arrested a number of key Gursikhs and protesters.
She stated that the marchers were chanting “Satnam Waheguru” and though a number of organizations had pledged their support, “our own brothers arrested her.”
“I don’t understand why the Badal government felt it was important for them to arrest us?” she asked.
As per our observers, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Phagwara, Sultanpur Lodhi, Tarn Taran, Jandiala Guru, Ludhiana and Ajnala were completely shutdown, whereas Patiala, Bathinda, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Sri Anandpur Sahib remained closed partially.
