Program in Memory of Sant Kartar Singh Bhindranwale Attended by Sikh Sangat and Punjab Leaders

BHIKHIWIND, Punjab—The annual program dedicated to the 82nd birthday anniversary of 13th Chief of Damdami Taksal Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale was celebrated in Gurdwara Khalsa Darbar of Village Bhoora Kohna, with the assistance of SGPC member Manjit Singh (son of Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa and Chairman PEDA) and local devotees. Bhog of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji was laid and Raagi Jathas sung holy Gurbani.

Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Gurbachan Singh and Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh Bhikhiwind said that Sant Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale dedicated his whole life to the preaching of Sikhism and attached the people with Guru Sahib through Amrit.

Chief Minister S.Parkash Badal said that Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa took the daring step of organizing so many Nagar Kirtans despite huge restrictions during the Emergency period announced by the Congress Government of that time. Chief Minister also acquainted the devotees with the facilities being provided by the Government to the people of Punjab. Badal also announced to give grant of Rs. 1000,000 to the Panchayat of Village Bhoora Kohna for its development.

MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha threw light on the contribution of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh Ji in the preachment of Sikhism in India and abroad. “Sant Kartar Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale and Shaheed Bhai Amrik Singh were precious diamonds of our community,” he added. 

Bhai Manjit Singh, MLA Virsa Singh Valtoha, SGPC Member Kashmir Singh Gandiwind, Kanwar Charat Singh Gill, Gauravdeep Singh Valtoha, and Bhai Tarlochan Singh honoured Parkash Badal with a siropa on this occasion.

Jathedar Surinder Singh Udoke, Sukhwant Singh Mughal Chakk(Chairman Block Samiti) Manjit Singh Khalsa, Bawa Singh Gumanpura, SGPC Preacher Heera Singh Maniala, Dilbag Singh Kajichakk, Sarpanch Harpal Singh Frandipur, Gurnoor Singh Gumtala (Owner of GBS Transport), Gursewak Singh Laddi of Algon Kothi etc. were present on this occasion along with thousands of devotees.
