Sikh Relief UK to Help Afghan Sikhs who Survived Dangerous Journey to UK in Shipping Container

2014-10-13- sikh reliefLONDON, UK—Sikh Relief (SOPW) have been in contact with the committee of Gurdwara Baba Bhudha Sahib in East Dulwich (London) to ask what further help they can provide for the Sikh families from Afghanistan who were trapped in a container which arrived at the Tilbury docks in England.

The ladies in the group requested that they were in need of salwar kameez suits as most other items had been covered by the generous outpouring of support from the British Sikh community. Sikh Relief arranged for a large variety of suits to be delivered and made for their individual fitting to be worn straightaway.

These families have faced tragedy and horror living as a minority community within Afghanistan. Sikh Relief are there for them to do whatever possible to make their future lives a little more comfortable now that they have escaped their past.
