Punjab Police Claims To Have Arrested Alleged Member of Bhindrawale Tiger Force

Rattandeep-Singh-BTFK-PunCHANDIGARH, Punjab—Punjab Police claims to have arrested Sikh youth Ratandeep Singh for alleged involvement in the Chaindigarh blast case. The Police has claimed that Ratandeep was head of Bhindranwale Tiger Force (BTF) and held a passport from Pakistan.

The Police said Ratandeep Singh was “wanted” for more than 15 years, despite the fact that he often visited India in that time. Police alleged that he was an expert in making explosives and was trained by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).

A 19-member team of the State Special Operations Cell (SSOC), Amritsar Sahib, arrested Rattandeep yesterday from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh. He will remain in police custody for 10 days. He belongs to Rohar village in Jind, Haryana.

He was allegedly carrying both Pakistani currency (Rs 300) and Indian currency (Rs 11,000). The police claimed that Rattandeep had attended meetings between Col Sahbaz Minhas of the ISI and Jathedar Bhai Wadhawa Singh of the Babbar Khalsa International.

As per the police statement, Rattandeep had also traveled to Thailand in March of 1992. From there, he shifted to Germany and then to Belgium. He arrived in Pakistan in March 1993 on a forged passport, claimed the Police.
