New Documentary: Waking in Oak Creek

OAK CREEK, WISCONSIN, USA—The documentary Waking In Oak Creek is about a town that was shocked and awakened by a white supremacist who committed a hate crime and killed six Sikh worshippers in the Oak Creek Wisconsin Gurdwara 2 years ago.

The film was made in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice COPS Office as part of the Not In Our Town: Working Together for Safe, Inclusive Communities Initiative. Not In Our town is a movement in which the local communities get together to address and stop hate crimes, bullying, and work together to build and live in a safe, well diverse neighborhood. Not In Our Town films helps local community leaders in organizing and help build a safe diverse town where ever they may live. You can learn how to get involved and take action at NIOT.org.
