JALANDHAR, Punjab—Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) leader Dushyant Chautala, Member of Parliament (MP) from Hisar, on Sunday declared that Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal would be their star campaigner during the Haryana Assembly elections.
Dushyant, who was attending a programme here, said, “The senior Badal is one of the most respected political leaders and close aide of Chautala family. Hence, Badal will be our main campaigner during electioneering.”
The SAD is contesting elections in Haryana from two seats – Ambala and Kalanwali.
It is pertinent to mention that INLD chief Om Parkash Chautala and his elder son Ajay Chautala are cooling their heels in jail for their involvement in the JBT teacher recruitment scam. However, due to health grounds, both the leaders are currently on bail.
As perz party sources, with Ajay and senior Chautala out on bail, both the leaders would be unable to campaign for the Assembly polls. “In such circumstances, INLD leadership is of the view that Badal is an apt choice during electioneering,” said Dushyant.
