Bhai Bakhshish Singh Released on Parole for 28 days

Bhai Bakhshish SinghNABHA (Patiala), Punjab—Bhai Bakhshish Singh alias “Baba” was released on Wednesday from Nabha maximum security jail on parole for 28 days.

Talking to media, Bhai Bakhshish Singh said that of the 10 years imprisonment awarded to him in Dera Sirsa chief assault case, he had spent four years behind bars. He said he was granted the parole release due to ailment of his daughter Simranjit Kaur, and he would try to extend its period.

Parmjit Singh Sahauli, national president of Akali Dal (Sutantar), welcomed him along with others. Other panthik Sikhs and family members of Bhai Sahib including his wife were also there to welcome him.

“Central and Punjab government cannot be hoped of giving relief to Sikh political prisoners in a form of parole release, these are only judiciary upon which we can have no hope of justice”, said Parmjit Singh Sahauli.
