SAHIBZADA AJIT SINGH NAGAR, PUNJAB—The first day of the foot march from Gurdwara Amb Sahib to Sri Akal Takht Sahib witnessed unexpected turnout of the Sikh Sangat.  The march started during the morning and Sikhs from different villages near Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar gathered at Gurdwara Amb Sahib to take part.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh Khalsa mentioned that the march was being organized to seek release of Sikh political prisoners and to unite the entire Sikh Nation under the Nishan Sahib.  He stated that the hunger strike last year was ended after the appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib took responsibility for releasing Sikh prisoners.

Bhai Gurbaksh Singh stated that an ardas will be done upon reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib.  He said no Government or Jathedar has worked to save Gursikhs languishing in jails.  He said ardas would be done on August 15 at Sri Akal Takht Sahib, in the feet of Guru Hargobind Sahib to save the lives of the many Sikhs lodged in prisons throughout India.
