Rajasthan University of Health Sciences Bars Kirpan During Examinations

RAJASTHAN, India—A notice issued by the Rajasthan University of Health Sciences bars Sikh students from carrying kirpans during examinations. The Copy of the notice that was issued to students before the exam states that all Sikh students should not bring kirpans, etc. to the examination hall.

A student student was barred from entering the examination earlier this year due to his religious articles. The matter was brought up with the SGPC, who has asked the University to relax its guidelines and allow Sikhs to carry their religious articles.
