The protest was held near Nanak Nagar Gurdwara and the demonstrators raised slogans against the Uttar  Pradesh government.

Yesterday, Sikh protesters had taken to the streets in New Delhi, terming the clashes in Saharanpur as a conspiracy against the minorities.

On Saturday morning, violent clashes had erupted in Saharanpur amongst two groups who reportedly clashed over a patch of disputed land close to the city’s railway station.

District Magistrate of Saharanpur, Sandhya Tiwari, had yesterday indicated that the situation in the area was returning towards normalcy and claimed that no new instance of violence had occurred since it all started on Saturday.
