SHAHEED BHAGAT SINGH NAGAR, Punjab—Paying respects at memorial of Shaheed Bhagat Singh at Khatkarh Klan, newly elected MP from Sangrur, Bhagwant Mann stated that he would take oath in Punjabi in parliament wearing turban.

“I will raise voice of people. I shall neither go there for sleeping, nor for breaking chairs. I will firmly follow the ideology of Bhagat Singh”, he said. He was accompanied by several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers and family members.  Bhagwant Mann became emotional at the site of the memorial.  Bhagwant Mann placed the election certificate at the feet of Bhagat Singh and pledged to work in his footsteps.

It is notable that Mann who contested the Lok Sabha elections on AAP ticket from Sangrur constituency, bagged the victory with highest margin in the state and received around 5.4 lakh (533,237) votes.  He successfully defeated SAD candidate Sukhdev Dhindsa by around 2 lakh votes.
