4 Ways to have a Guru Sahib-Centered Relationship

PRAY TOGETHER

I believe that those who pray together will stay together. And while prayer might be one of those things some view as a private act, I’d encourage you to open up and start praying with whoever you try to deepen your relationship with. Take the opportunity to not only pray for your relationship with each other, but that God himself will guide both of you to personally reflect an example of His love.

SERVE TOGETHER

Whether it be in a local Gurdwara Sahib, food-pantry or homeless shelter, I’d recommend you and your significant other serve together in one way or another. Not only will you be able to see each serve in ways of selflessness, but it will be a great opportunity to see each other get used by the hand’s of God.

WORSHIP TOGETHER

Whether you are at a local Gurdwara Sahib, conference or sitting in your living-room, worshiping God is available no matter the circumstance. Take time to worship God through words, writing, music, or even prayer. Allow yourself to freely express your love for God with your significant other. Come together in this time and selflessly place your heart in the hands of God.

READ GURBANI TOGETHER

If you want to have a Guru Sahib-centered relationship, there is nothing better than reading and studying Gurbani together! Get yourself some Steeks or commentary on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and some Katha, and make it a point to unwrap the beauty of God’s word as a couple. Not only will this deepen your personal relationships, but it will always help you and your significant other grow closer to Guru Sahib and God.
