US Based Organization Seeks CBI Probe Into Arrest of Canadian Citizen in Punjab

SSP Hardial Singh from Patiala faces allegations of fabricating Manpreet’s arrest and taking bribes.  SSP can be seen standing with Bikram Majithia.

SAN JOSE, California, USA—The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) took a very serious note on the allegation of Canada based Non-Resident Indian (NRI) woman Amarjit Kaur Basra that a bribe taken from her husband Manpreet Singh Gill had forcibly entrapped him in a case falsified by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Patiala Hardyal Singh Mann, in the much-publicized International Drug racket allegedly steered by Jagdish Bhola, and Anup Singh Kahlon.

Releasing this statement, Satnam Singh Chahal executive director of the Association, said that allegations leveled by NRI Amarjit Kaur Basra against the SSP are very serious, and should be probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Chahal said that supporting documents submitted by the victim are of very serious nature, and that she also alleged the same accusations during their sting operation. Investigating Officer Dalbir Grewa,l and other officials, have allegedly confessed to taking ₹10 million from Manpreet, and involving him in a false case. These kinds of serious bribery allegations against Senior Police Officers are great concerns for the NRI community and need to be deeply probed in order to deliver justice to the victim. Allegations leveled by Amarjit Kaur Basra have evoked the emotions of the Overseas Punjabi Community, and the NRI Punjabi Community is expressing resentment over this issue.
